SWIPE MART
In September 2022, dating app “Tinder” opened an original convenience store called "SwipeMart" for a limited time in Shibuya Center Street as part of their brand campaign based on the theme of “Live Young Again.”
The Tinder logo and functions were used as motifs to create SwipeMart products such as original hot snacks, instant noodles, snacks, drinks, and underwear. These limited editions were distributed to users over the age of 18 who downloaded Tinder.
WOW led the planning, development, and installation of the “SwipeBooth” photo booth inside the store. The youthful memories captured at SwipeMart became original content that could only be made with Tinder. You could swipe right to “LIKE” the photos you took, or swipe left to say “NOPE” for the photos you wanted to retake. Sensing, UI design, and motion were explored with the aim of creating an experience of actually using the app.
The photos could be downloaded on the spot and shared with friends or used as a Tinder profile picture. An interactive environment was created, with new encounters and experiences in the store.
