TEIEN
OF HOTEL｜2022
OF HOTEL is a lifestyle hotel established in the suburbs of Sendai based on the concept of local sessions. WOW was in charge of the planning, direction, and production of the permanent installation found in the entrance area. The space is lined with round stones of different colors and textures, including Towada and Akiu stones that were produced in the Tohoku region, in the image of a garden, and images of nature and landscape are projected onto them.
The images alternate between abstract expressions that mimic the movement of water in the form of rain and rivers, and the surface of the water, which reflects the natural landscape of Tohoku. We spoke to creators rooted in the Tohoku region to fuse architecture and images and create a space and experience that stands apart from the hustle and bustle of the city, where time flows slowly, as it would in nature.
