MELTANT-α CONCEPT MOVIE
WOW was in charge of the overall branding of “MELTANT-α,” the first avatar robot in the world to have strong and dextrous hands, developed by MELTIN. MELTIN is aiming to develop cyborg technology which overcomes the limits of the human body and maximizes human innovation.
MELTIN’s core technologies are the “Biosignal Processing Technology” which analyses body movements accurately and the “Robotic Control Technology” which was inspired by observations of living things. MELTANT-α is a concept model for avatar robots developed with this know-how. This model is capable of manipulating its “hand,” the most humanlike feature, while also having incredible flexibility, speed, power, and endurance which bestows a high level of operating capability and making it possible to become a person’s “second body” that can operate in any part of the world at any instant. Its hands are not specialized for one specific purpose like a tool, but instead is able to hold, pinch, use tools, and swap them between hands, and many other operations, which translates into ultimate versatility. At the same time, humans use hands for intricate body language, such as conveying their thoughts subtly, patting someone on the back, and giving someone a warm hug.
Instead of just being a tool, MELTANT-α’s hands were portrayed in a way that bestowed hope that it would one day conceive of the spirit that we humans put into our own hands.
