Overbeast
The AR game Overbeast, which utilizes Verizon's 5G network, was launched in the spring of 2023 in the United States. WOW is responsible for the character design, modeling, and animation of the beasts that appear in the game. Using pixel streaming over the 5G network, we aimed to enhance the grand and vivid visual experience that was previously unattainable in AR.
We designed both the juvenile and adult forms of the beasts, which are portrayed as "kings of various ecosystems with special abilities". We used various simulations to highlight each beast's characteristics and bring their dynamic motions to life. Additionally, we created an immersive and realistic game experience for players by slowing down the animation of the beasts' movements, which emphasizes their gigantic size, but speeding up the battle actions, which result in lifelike combat scenes.
