KDDI Fx0
Fx0 by KDDI, is the first smartphone sold in Japan which is loaded with Firefox OS. WOW has been involved in the development of the interface of this device since the early stages, working on the various elements of the WebAPI linked lock-screen such as the icons and wallpapers. We were also responsible with the front-end development, design and planning of websites and tools, such the portal site used by KDDI to announce any information regarding the FirefoxOS, web development tools for applications which make use of IoT, and the relevant websites which introduce such services.
Approach
Fx0 has a transparent body which symbolizes openness. WOW adopted a design which features a futuristic motif which will remind you of the mechanism and organization of the internal parts of the device, emulating the outlook of the product's world. The visuals of the websites and background wallpapers express a sense of premonition of the future in the world of FirefoxOS. We designed the lock-screen to feature live information from the Web, and together with the user's location information, the display will update and change, showing the latest news or Twitter feeds. This is a palm-sized artwork which you can carry with you anywhere, and offers an entirely new experience not found on any iOS or Android devices.
