The opening title for the 2024 NHK special program “Songs Resonating Around the World: The New Era of Japan-Korea Pops” was planned, directed, and produced by WOW. The show captures the vibrant energy and avant-garde quality of these genres as it examines the current situation of J-POP and K-POP's global ascent. Three-dimensional images, originating from South Korea and Japan, depict the number of listeners on a textured, mostly white world map. The different ways these music cultures spread around the world are highlighted by the fact that J-POP's reach is often unexpected, such as through anime theme songs, but K-POP, as a cultural enterprise, deliberately grows internationally through marketing.
