About the Exhibition
The installation was exhibited at Plaza Canopy Square, which is a huge open space on the ground floor of Tokyo Midtown. A total of six projectors were used on the curved column screen. To help maintain the beauty and visual presence of the structure, we produced the column in conjunction with a structural engineer with additional consideration for safety and stability. The seamless columned projection was a beautiful form in itself, and people wandered around the piece enjoying it from every angle. Nine directional speakers allowed people nearby the column to hear the sound of the movie and also let people standing further away from the column hear ambient sounds. Layered sounds created an environment that allowed people to feel surrounded by the sound.
