Pokémon loves Fashion
The runway show was held at an abandoned station (former Leopolda station), and 5 giant triangular pyramids of 6.6m, 5.2m, 3.3m with mirror coating were installed there. By projecting images on the bottoms of these pyramids, the runway was bathed in seemingly infinite reflected images like a kaleidoscope. Following the collections theme of the “Arts & Craft Movement”, elaborately drawn stages of the fashion creation process include the braiding of cloth, the dying of cloth, and the creation of textiles, as well as graphical representations of Pokémon blending with the world of fashion.
There were also 4 pyramids of 3.5m installed at the Villa Vittoria, close to PITTI UOMO’s main assembly hall. Much like at the runway show venue, visitors were greeted by an edgy installation made by yoshiokubo, Pokémon, and WOW.
