Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. / Yamaha Corporation|2023
This work is a joint project from the design departments of both Yamaha Motor Company, Ltd., and Yamaha Corporation. Both companies perform research to explain the essence of the experience of “deep emotion,” which is their shared corporate vision. And they created an installation through which one can experience part of their research results as an artwork. Yamaha converted the mechanism of “deep emotion,” which they clarified through their research, into an interactive experience that uses sound and image so that anyone can enjoy it. They made it possible to experience “deep emotion” without resorting to language or culture. This work is being exhibited in several domestic and international exhibitions, including SXSW 2023, as a prototype that displays the research results of both Yamaha companies.

WOW is in charge of planning and creating the entire installation art. It rebuilt the mechanism of “deep emotion,” defined according to Yamaha's research, and applied the mechanism to create an experience for anyone to enjoy. Two people experience this installation. One person produces a sound note, and the other can produce a tone by hitting the note. The two of them design and create a rhythm by turns. Thus, they understand an abstracted intent as in a jazz session or soccer passing. And this leads to a deep emotion of having communicated. WOW is handling all the planning and creation, such as the experience design, image and sound, and system design.

Renewal of ISSEY MIYAKE's official website

ISSEY MIYAKE|2023
In March 2023, ISSEY MIYAKE renewed its official website. The online store and other related service sites, which were previously operated individually, will be integrated into a single site to provide the latest information on each brand and its approach to craftsmanship, as well as a seamless shopping experience. WOW was in charge of the design and production of this new site.

ISSEY MIYAKE INC.

■ Modern design that reinterprets the ISSEY MIYAKE style
For the renewal that integrated the entire ISSEY MIYAKE website (corporate, brand, and online store), we aimed to unify the design with a renewed awareness of the ISSEY MIYAKE style.

In terms of visual design, we minimized the use of gray and black to bring out the beautiful visuals of the brand and made it in a more modern and simple direction than the old site.

In terms of interface design, the design and layout of components such as menus, breadcrumb navigation, and footers were made more generic than the old site, and emphasis was placed on the ease of navigation and access to pages.

■ Brand pages that appropriately convey and deliver the worldview of each brand
The aim of each brand page was to create a structure that would allow each brand to express its individuality while ensuring a sense of unity as "ISSEY MIYAKE." The main visuals, product images, and images of models wearing the products are kept to a minimum so that the beauty of the visuals will stand out. The design of each content is modularized to ensure ease of operation and to provide a certain degree of flexibility in the modules so that each brand can have its own identity.

■ Product pages for a seamless shopping experience
The integrated website provides a more seamless shopping experience than ever before by creating a user flow from the look images on the brand pages to the product pages in the online store. In addition, the layout and operability have been optimized for each display device, such as smartphones and PCs, to improve the overall UX.

OPEN HUB Visualizer

NTT Communications|2022
Concept
The “OPEN HUB Visualizer,” a large-screen LED display, was installed in the “OPEN HUB Park” workplace, established by NTT Communications and equipped with the latest technology. WOW was in charge of the production of real-time CG and the performance of two types of content on this display, on which viewers can experience Smart World through data visualization.

Smart Customer Experience
We used data visualization to express the analysis mechanism for customer experience data on the “Hisaya Digital Park” website, which is a VR version of Nagoya's Hisaya Odori Park. By displaying the visualization generated from dummy data as an overlay on the wire-framed Hisaya Odori model, we aimed to create a form enabling information to be understood intuitively.

Smart Healthcare
We provided an explanation of the “Smart Data Platform for Healthcare,” which enables the posting of data analysis results only, while keeping secret data requiring privacy protection. We handled the encrypted data aggregate as a wave of number and symbols, expressing a mechanism capable of safely extracting only what is necessary for analysis from this massive amount of data.

RENDER

Installation, Spiral|2018
RENDER is an experimental installation created using 20 sheets of organic display electroluminescence. Its focus’s on the perception of “being able to see things that cannot actually be seen” using footage from the natural world such as rain, wind and lightning, as well as a three-dimensional audio reconstruction using natural sound fragments.

The artwork aims to trigger a new sense of depth allowing viewers to reimagine what is depicted between each display using their minds to fill in the blanks. By displaying fragmented three-dimensional visuals on multiple displays, a new perspective can be explored not only from the front but all angles in 3D space. This experience will intensely stimulate the viewer’s imagination, leaving a deeper impression on one’s mind.
